Interview with Olga Adler
How long have you been a designer?
I started designing spaces around me the day I was old enough to push furniture around in my parents’ home, so I guess you can say that I have been designing my entire life. I designed houses and apartments in Europe before moving to the U.S., where I started Olga Adler Interiors in 2003.
How are you different from other interior designers and decorators?
I believe that your home should reflect your personal taste, not necessarily mine. I believe in creating spaces that are custom and unique unlike many other designers who have their “signature look” they like to replicate over and over again. I feel comfortable working in all design styles, from traditional to contemporary.
Most people’s tastes are very a la carte and so a standard menu of “traditional,” ”modern” or “country” simply won’t do. You may like classic interiors in general and yet respond strongly to certain touches that are more modern or that have a certain regional flair. It is not about putting a name on your style — it is about you and me discovering together what puts a smile on your face.
What is your design philosophy?
I am convinced that my job is to make your home beautiful and practical and the entire process hassle-free for you. Your aesthetic objectives together with your deadline and budget are my focus. Once we zero in on the design plan all I want you to do is to relax and enjoy the final result – my team and I will take care of the rest.
How do I know if your services are right for me?
Our ideal client loves beautiful spaces that reflect her lifestyle, personality and aesthetic sensibility. We achieve exciting results through a creative alliance between client and designer. If you understand that designing a space is a process, and if you appreciate the value that good design can bring to your life, then we will work together very well. If you would like to work with someone who is quick and responsive, and also thorough and tuned in to your needs, then I am the right designer for you.
If you are not ready to collaborate in a timely manner or if you tend to question your own decisions, a different design company might be best for you.
Where can I see examples of your work?
You can see examples of many of my projects here – please see the PORTFOLIO section of the website. My work has also been published in national and local magazines – please see PRESS.
How can I find out what your clients think about working with you?
I form lasting relationships with my clients. They keep coming back and refer their friends and family to work with me. Please see REVIEWS.
